Global Supply & Demand
Learn what global demand means for UNIMMAP MMS products and how to access supply.
Kirk Humanitarian’s UNIMMAP MMS is available now
Kirk Humanitarian buys most of the world’s UNIMMAP MMS from Contract Pharmacal Corp (CPC). We’ve reduced the cost of MMS by four times, which means it’s now available at a similar price to IFA, a little over $0.01 per dose.
Global demand for UNIMMAP MMS is growing
Today, Kirk Humanitarian is the leading global purchaser of UNIMMAP MMS. But as more countries show interest in MMS, we need reliable global, regional, and local manufacturers to keep up with the demand. Now through 2030, it’s estimated that almost 130 million pregnant women will need MMS annually.
Importance of global UNIMMAP product technical specifications
To make sure there’s enough MMS for everyone who needs it, it’s important to have enough supply of high-quality, affordable MMS. With partners, Kirk Humanitarian developed open-source expert consensus product specifications, a comprehensive set of guidelines that any manufacturer can use to make high-quality UNIMMAP MMS.
How to get UNIMMAP MMS
Government officials in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) are encouraged to access MMS product supply through the Child Nutrition Fund (CNF). This fund is designed to speed up the sustainable and long-term scale-up of nutrition programs.
Here’s how it works: for every dollar that a government puts in, the CNF matches it with another dollar’s worth of MMS supply donated by Kirk Humanitarian. This means their contribution gets doubled, helping more women get the nutrition they need. For more information and to apply, visit www.childnutritionfund.org.
